Abstract
Сажетак: У раду се указује на односе између међународних мултилатералних уговора у области животне средине (ММУЖС) глобалног карактера и савремених безбедносних проблема. Наглашава се значај неколико кључних безбедносних изазова (климатске промене, управљање водним ресурсима, заштита биодиверзитета и управљање отпадом и опасним хемикалијама). Разматра се питање односа према глобалним проблемима у области животне средине од стране чланица Савета безбедноси УН (СБУН), Републике Србије (РС) и њој суседних држава чланица ЕУ. За основу анализе је узето питање статуса ових држава у 15 ММУЖС чији је депозитар Генерални секретар УН. Констатује се да не постоји уједначно чланство држава чланица СБУН у ММУЖС. У неколико ММУЖС изостаје чланство неких држава чланица СБУН. Истовремено, чланство у највећем броју имају државе чланице ЕУ (како сталне чанице СБУН, тако и РС суседне државе). РС, у погледу броја уговора у којима је страна уговорница, заостаје за суседним државама чланицама ЕУ.
