Na prvom skupu termičara Jugoslavije pre više od četrdeset godina donete su dve bitne odluke - da se osnuje Društvo termičara Jugoslavije i da se pokrene glasilo termičara časopis "Termotehnika". Osnovano Jugoslovensko društvo termičara godinama je uspešno okupljalo termičare na svojim simpozijumima širom Jugoslavije. Danas Društvo termičara, u izmenjenom okruženju, okuplja termičare Srbije. Veliku zaslugu u aktivnosti Društva ima časopis "Termotehnika", iniciran 1974. godine, čiji je prvi glavni i odgovorni urednik bio profesor Milan Vesović sa Mašinskog fakulteta u Beogradu, a nasledio ga je dr Ljubomir Jovanović, naučni savetnik, iz Laboratorije za termotehniku i energetiku Instituta za nuklearne nauke "Vinča" do svoje prerane smrti. Časopis je zamišljen kao glasilo Društva sa objavljivanjem radova sa simpozijuma termičara, ali je ubrzo počeo da objavljuje naučne i stručne radove iz oblasti prenosa toplote i mase iz svih republika SFRJ. Najviše radova je objavljivano iz Srbije i Slovenije. Od 1994. godine jedan broj "Termotehnike" štampan je na engleskom jeziku, koji od 1997. godine izlazi kao poseban časopis "Thermal Science", postavljen prema svim kriterijumima međunarodnih časopisa, sa međunarodnom redakcijom i međunarodnom recenzijom radova. Ipak, nešto se menja, postoji interes za objavljivanjem radova iz susednih zemalja istog ili sličnog jezičkog područja. To nas upućuje da istrajemo u daljem izlaženju. Zamoreni stariji članovi Društva i redakcije zamenjuju se mlađim koji će dati nov impuls kako u održanju kvaliteta tako i u kvantitetu. Međutim, glavna pokretačka snaga i želja da se nastavi izlaženje časopisa su radovi. Bez njih bi se časopis odavno ugasio. Ako bi trebalo nekog istaći onda bi to bila Laboratorija za termotehniku i energetiku Instituta "Vinča" koja je povremeno bila jedini finansijer i štamparija Instituta "Vinča", koja je uz velike napore uspevala da odštampa časopis u opštoj besparici i teškoćama u nabavci hartije i drugog materijala. Obeležavajući četrdesetogodišnjicu izlaženja časopisa "Termotehnika" moramo biti zadovoljni postignutim rezultatima u teškim godinama iza nas, sa željom da dalji put bude manje trnovit i da finansije ne budu ograničavajući faktor u održanju kvaliteta i redovnosti izlaženja u punom tiražu.

Focus and area of interest

The journal Termotehnika publishes scientific and professional works in the field of thermotechnics, thermoenergetics, chemical engineering and related fields of the thermal profession.

The journal also accepts papers dealing with the issues of energy raw materials, energy sources, energy conversion and energy conservation.

In special sections, the journal publishes reviews of books, expert meetings, master's and doctoral dissertations, as well as other contributions of an informative nature.

Peer review procedure

In the management of editorial and administrative tasks, including those related to authors and their works, Termotehnika journal relies on SCIndex Editorial Service. In this way, we also provide technical support, expert opinions and ready-made solutions that protect the magazine from various risks. Technical support is intended exclusively for the editorial staff of the magazine. On special request, it is used exclusively for the needs of the authors themselves, at their request.

The editorial service is also used for the management of the Repository, permanent storage of subscription records, as well as for consultation with the SCIndex publisher on standards and good practices in publishing. All correspondence, including telephone conversations, is recorded and stored for more efficient communication in the future.

Uniform formatting of citations/references is a basic obligation and distinctive feature of scientific journals. In order to fully ensure this in the journal Termotehnika, the format of the references is routinely checked in all papers and, if necessary, corrected using a software tool called RefFormatter.

RefFormatter automatically matches references with the description of cited works in their original form, as it is given in reliable, so-called. normative databases, such as CrossRef, Medline, etc. During this and subsequent operations, references are broken down into their constituent parts (author, title, etc.), in order to correct errors, complete missing elements, and bring their final appearance into line with the citation style used by the journal.

References that the system fails to find in any of the normative bases are left to the authors to format semi-automatically, using the RefFormatter functionality.

History of the magazine

In the journal Termotehnika, manuscripts are submitted in Word through SCIndex Assistant, which is available to all interested potential authors from the journal page in SCIndex.

SCIndex Assistant allows authors to track the progress of their manuscripts in the peer review process and revise them if requested. All communication between authors, reviewers and editorial staff during this process takes place via e-mail and is stored permanently in the database.

The system also provides several tools to help authors improve their manuscripts according to reviewers' suggestions and editorial requests.
